2011 - Learning to Love - Really, it is easier said than done. Yet, this past year, I have had the opportunity to do just that and it has been quite simple. In fact, I have been learning how to be loved as well.
- By dear friends and family - helping with our wedding in every possible way, taking me in when I had no where to stay, providing food when I was totally broke, and by listening until I was out of words to say.
- By my husband - taking his name, sharing in all things, and opening our hearts and lives to one another.
- By my dog - it sounds silly but his greeting when he sees me after work makes my day. Every day.
- By my students - unconditionally, they trust me and they look up to me requesting knowledge, safety, and love. They award me with the name "Teacher, Maestra."

Like everyone, I will usually do a bit of introspective thinking at the end of a year. And like most, I will evaluate how the year has gone. 2011 - I can honestly say, I have few regrets. And that is an incredible feeling. I am not trying to be incredibly sappy or sentimental but sincerely truthful in my assessment. May 2012 bring even fewer regrets and even more growth.
